Ronald McDonald House Charities is a public charity, 501(c)(3) organization, governed by a Board of Trustees. Under the direction of the RMHC Board of Trustees, the Global team is responsible for the ongoing operation of the Charity and the development and support of its local Chapters and programs. The Ronald McDonald House Charities Global team is located in Oak Brook, Illinois, at the headquarters of McDonald’s Corporation. McDonald’s Corporation supports in part the Charity’s general and administrative costs, including staff salaries and the free use of its facilities, equipment, materials and limited services.
RMHC Global provides a wealth of ongoing support, focused on Building the Capacities of its local Chapters, Increasing Quality and Adherence to Standards, and Strengthening the Network among the worldwide system.
The RMHC Education Program offers relevant, practical and needs-based curriculum to local board, staff, and volunteers. Throughout these educational opportunities and the range of resources and tools provided to the RMHC system, there is a strategic focus on areas of governance, management effectiveness, program development and performance, communications, community engagement, and financial sustainability.
RMHC Global provides direct financial support to local RMHC organizations worldwide including grants for new Chapters, new Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Room, and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile programs, and House program expansions. RMHC Global also matches US Chapter grants made to local children’s organizations and scholarships awarded through the RMHC/HACER, RMHC/ASIA, RMHC/Future Achievers, and RMHC Scholars programs.
In addition to direct financial support of the local Chapters and programs, RMHC Global cultivates relationships with corporate donors who directly support local Chapters through the donation of cash contributions, goods and services, and/or volunteer activities.
